Who is Rochelle Humes?

Rochelle Humes is one of the five members of ex-British pop group The Saturdays and is the wife of JLSmember Marvin Humes. She co-presents ITV's Ninja Warrior UK and is a frequent guest host on breakfast favourite This Morning. She also co-hosts BBC's The Hit List with her husband.

Rochelle attended The Coopers' Company and Coborn School in Upminster as a child and teenager, where she would meet future band member Frankie Bridge.

Rochelle Humes' family

Of Norwegian and Sierra Leonean descent, she was born Rochelle Eulah Eileen Wiseman on 21 March 1989 in Barking, East London.

She is married to English singer, DJ and TV and radio personality Marvin Humes. The couple share three children: daughters Alaia-Mai (born 20 May 2013) and Valentina Raine (born 10 March 2017), and son Blake Hampton (born 9 October 2020).

Rochelle was raised by her mother Rozand professional footballer uncle Paul Ince after her parents divorced when she was three years old.

Rochelle has two sisters: Lili and Sophie Piper. Fame runs through the family, as eagle-eyed fans will recognise her sister Sophie from the 2020 winter series of ITV dating show, Love Island.

The songstress has rarely addressed her relationship with her father, but simply revealed to HELLO! that "My dad has never been around."

Rochelle Humes' early career and SClub Juniors

Rochelle rose to fame early in life. In 2001, aged 12, she successfully auditioned to join chart-topping pop group SClub Juniors (which later renamed toS Club 8). Following the footsteps of SClub 7, the youngsters would achieve six Top 10 hits in the following four years: OneStepCloser, Automatic High, New Direction, Puppy Love/Sleigh Ride, Fool No More and Sundown.

Speaking of her early brush with success, her mother Roz wanted to keep her daughter grounded and not let fame goto her head. She explained at the time:"To keep Rochelle normal I try not to get so excited aboutthings because when it ends, it'll make it harder to deal with things."

When SClub 8 folded at the end of 2004, this sensible approach helped her daughter through her teen years. She modelled and entered a Miss England contest, finishing third before being called up to try out for a new girl group.

Rochelle was excited to find out that her former S Club colleague Frankie Bridge was also in the running. The pair were thrilled when they got through alongside Una Healy, Mollie King and Vanessa White, forming The Saturdays in the summer of 2007.

By 2013, the band had taken the nation by storm. If This Is Love, their debut single peaked at number eight. It came from the girls' 2008 album Chasing Lights, which went platinum.

This was followed in quick succession by 2009's Wordshaker, 2011's On Your Radarand 2014's Living for the Weekend.

The group toured and collaborated extensively during their time. Some of their biggest moments include opening for Girls Aloud during their Tangled Up Tour, scoring thirteen Top 10 hits and releasing a mini album, Headlines!, in 2010 featuring Flo Rida.

Things for The Saturdays started slowing down in 2015, with Mollie King and Frankie Bridge suggesting that the group had gone on hiatus for a time with a plan to release a new album the following year at the earliest.

The album sadly never came to light, with Vanessa White revealing in 2017 that she had no plans to return to The Saturdays in the near future. Una Healy went on to release her debut country album, The Waiting Game, in the same year.

While Mollie King hinted at a possible reunion at the end 2017, we are still yet to see plans come to life.

In 2020, Rochelle revealed that she wouldn’t consider returning to a career in the music industry.

Career today

Today Rochelle can be seen presenting on ITV and BBC shows. She is also the founder of baby skin and haircare brand My Little Coco, which produces shampoos, conditioners and body washes for delicate skin and hair.

Private life

During The Saturdays' heyday, Rochelle began seeing JLS heartthrob Marvin Humes, a friend since their teens. 'Marvel', as her Saturdays sister Mollie cheekily dubbed them, was born in 2010.

A brief split served only to highlight how perfect the pair are for each other – "That time apart showed me without a shadow of a doubt that Rochelle was the woman I wanted to be with for the rest of my life because I was so miserable without her", Marvin said in an interview with HELLO!.

On a New Year's Eve holiday to the Maldives, Marvin popped the question with a dazzling heart-shaped diamond ring, made to his specification.

There was only one location that the couple had in mind for the wedding: "Early in our relationship Marvin and I went for day out at Blenheim Palace and I thought then what an amazing place it would to get married," said Rochelle, of Winston Churchill's Oxfordshire birthplace. "As you drive up, the sight of it takes your breath away. It has got so much history."

HELLO! were invited to cover the pair's wedding on 27 July 2012. The guest list at the nuptials read like a Top Ten chart list. Wishing them well were X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos, as well as singers Olly Murs, Pixie Lott, Alexandra Burke, Girls Aloud's Nicola Roberts and several members of One Direction.

By November that year, the newlyweds were expecting their first child. Rochelle told fans it was "the best early Christmas present we could have asked for". Alaia-Mai was born the following May, followed by Valentina Raine in 2017 and Blake Hampton in 2020.

In 2022, the couple decided to say 'I do' again in a second wedding ceremony, this time in the presence of their three children. The pair renewed their vows in Villa d’Este’s Marble Garden in Lake Como, Italy.
